You can meet with Jimmy Butler and his agent, Bernie Lee, and figure out like if this makes sense and go from there. But I think if I'm in a front office, I think my big question is what's the number next year? Like, what are we looking for? You've got a $52 million player option. We're not going up from that number, right?
Like you want to start at 40 and go from there, or maybe we could decline and we get creative and we do a Chris Paul type contract. Remember Chris signed that four for 120 and the first two years were guaranteed and there was a partial there and you want to do something like that, give you some length. We'd be interested in that.

You can read through guys. I think the other thing, too, is it always says, what are we giving up? What are we giving up as far as are these core guys, are these expirings, are these guys that are hurt, not part of the rotation? Is it worth it? I think that goes into it too.
But yeah, that's why, as I said, I would want, you know, I'd want my coach, I would want to meet with the player, you know, even if it's over Zoom.

I, first of all, I just wanted to mention, as bad as it was last year in Memphis, they basically use this as an audition in a developmental year for all these guys. And this is kind of what you're getting right now.

Like if you're, if we're talking like baseball, right? Like who's that AAA guy, that third baseman in the system that we can, like we could trade for. And then we can, you know, he's going to be our guy moving forward. Listen, I love Jake LaRavia. I know that's not the household name and everything like that. And I like Santi Aldama, what he's been able to do.
Borrevia's problem is that Memphis declined his fourth year option. So whoever trades for him is limited as far as what they can pay him in free agency. It's like in that $4 to $5 million range. So that would be a guy that I would really want, but I don't know. I think you're going to probably get outbid in free agency worth. I think it would be Aldama just based on as far as what he's been able to
Well, listen, I talked to a couple of teams about it and the biggest hindrance is not a five and a seven in the last year. is that no trade comes with it. And listen, Mark Bartlestein, his agent, went on the record with Windy and said, like, we're not removing that from the contract. You trade for him, it's coming with him, right? Like, that's a hindrance that teams mentioned to me.
Like, for some teams, that's like a non-starter, as far as, because what happens, you know, a year from now, and we want to maybe flip him again, we're basically going through this same process here. Man, he's owed $110 million after this year, 53 and 57. I wish the game and when they play, when he came off the bench in Philly, that I wish that was more that we saw that we've seen.
I mean, you watch the during they were in Atlanta the other last night, I think. Not good. No, the Atlanta game last night.
Yeah, even the game they won in Phoenix. I mean, Charlotte had them on the ropes going into the fourth. That wasn't a layup there. The market for him... Listen, there's... I always say every player is tradable, right? But man, he is as close...

You're not taking $57 million or $53 million unless you're getting a lot back. That just doesn't make sense here. So it's a fascinating situation because it's not going to get much better in Phoenix next year. We might be doing this podcast a year from now and you'll be like, what's going on with the Suns? I'll be like, Groundhog Day, right? Their guys are going to be older.
