The state has a long history of fighting against corruption in politics, money in politics, dating back more than a century.
And I spoke with over a dozen voters across the western half of the state.
and of various ideological stripes, and not a single one of them said that they wanted corporate money in politics.
They all said that they would vote in favor of banning that money from entering the state's politics.
What this is trying to do is go around Citizens United, not smash into it head on.
And it's doing that by saying that states, through the 10th Amendment of the US Constitution, have the right to regulate corporations.
They can determine what powers corporations have.
Experts are watching this closely, legal experts and others, thinking that it could set a tremendous legal precedent and could be something
that will eventually go before the Supreme Court and have to be decided.
I mean, the voters in Colorado's District 8 really expressed a lot of dissatisfaction with the economy, of course, with inflation, with prices.
They seemed to be really exasperated.
What I heard from people was they didn't really know who to turn to or which party to turn to.
You know, I spoke with people.
who had cast their ballot for President Trump in 2024, and some of them regretted that.
That said, that doesn't mean that they are just jumping back to supporting Democrats.
Most of the people we spoke with are up in the air.
They don't know who they're gonna vote for.
They don't see either party necessarily as providing really good solutions or roadmaps for how to get some relief.
And I think that's why, especially for Latino voters who are already much more likely to be independent or unaffiliated and to be swingy, they're just not ready to give their support to one part or the other right now.
