So the first year I was slated to play, but the second year for sure they were going to get a long-term replacement.

Well, AVB saw how fit I was and how fit Carlo Cudicini was.

And Gomez was still under contract at the club.

So AVB wanted three different players.

I don't think I should say who the players he wanted.

But on the final day of the transfer window, Hugo Lloris came in with Moussa Dembele, who was a player, by the way, and Clint Dempsey.
