basic New York values that everybody deserves a shot, that you ought to have a home you can afford in a neighborhood you feel safe in with a good school for your kids in a city with all kinds of people from around the world making it work every day.

And that's the kind of mayor I'll

be one who you know most of my day job is making city government run better i'm the controller i know how to run city agencies better to deliver the affordable housing and safety and child care and good jobs folks need and i got the backbone to stand up to trump at a time of crisis speaking of if you had a chance to speak to him face to face what would you say to him

I mean, I would say we are going to stand up for the rule of law.

We are not going to let you demonize our immigrant neighbors.

If you try to cut our healthcare, our housing, our schools, you're going to lose utterly in the midterms next year.

Turn down the temperature, keep the National Guard at abeyance.

And whatever, there's no hope for convincing him, but we are going to show him that there's no way we are bending the knee.

We're going to keep

American democracy is strong at every chance we can.

I have not gotten the chance to speak to him yet.

I was really grateful for what he said yesterday, not just in regard for me, but in clarity about the moment we're in.

So thanks to him for going into that press conference and for not backing down and for helping Americans see that this is an urgent time and we can all stand up.

Thanks to everybody who was out this weekend marching.

Go register to be an observer, a friend of the court yourselves.

Our democracy is on the line.

It's for all of us to stand up and protect it.

I'm going back.

I'll be back in that in that courtroom escorting the next set of folks out, hopefully as the Democratic nominee for mayor.
