But here's the thing about Giolito, because I think people sleep on Giolito about how good he can potentially be and how valuable he can potentially be.
Maybe because how he ended the season.
Maybe it was because how he began the season.
I don't know.
But here's a stat.
I think it's important, but I'm sure it'll be picked apart, but so be it.
Lucas Giolito allowed three or fewer earned runs in 19 of his 26 starts last year.
I want to compare that to Edward Cabrera, who obviously was the big acquisition for the Cubs.
Well, while Giolito was 19 of 26 in his starts, giving up three earned runs or less, Cabrera, 20 of 26.
So just one game different.
The team record in those games, 14-5 for the Red Sox, 14-6 for Cabrera.
So basically identical in terms of giving up three or fewer runs and both had 26 starts.
So there you go.
I mean, that should tell you a little bit that how valuable Lucas Giolito could be.
