I was home alone, but he made me pick the walnut orchard, which he knew would consume my time between school football practice and working at the night deposit as a dishwasher till midnight.

So I went to school the next day and the seniors were, I was a junior.

They put little notes on all our lockers saying senior fund drive.

They were trying to raise a thousand dollars to go on a senior trip.

And that was my first entrepreneurial epiphany.

I went to the captain of the foot.

I was a co-captain of the football team.

I was a junior and the senior I went to and said, hey, I think I can help you with that thousand bucks or some portion of it if a few of you showed up at the walnut orchard.

Because if I could pull the walnut picking forward, I could go spend the following weekend with my girlfriend who I was terrified she would bail on me because she was going to Oregon State and I was in high school, right?

So I was like, didn't want to lose her.

And I ended up with like 35 kids and their family and everybody come out.

And in two days, we picked that thing clean and I didn't do any of the things I hated.

I didn't get my hands stained.

I didn't do, I just went around topping trees and putting stuff in the burn pile.

And then the parents bought all the walnuts because they were, and I didn't understand it.

But when I look back on it, the parents showed up and did that with their kids because they're graduating.

They wanted to show them they were interested, right?

They did something I hated to show the people that were their kids, they loved them.

And then they bought it to thank me.

They bought everything to thank me for allowing this to happen.
