He finally gets some run support, or at least at least the pirates score five runs.

And of course Skeens doesn't get the win.

But yeah, it's just cool to see someone so young uh in a smaller market, uh just being a must-watch player every five days.

Imagine taking ground balls your whole life and then moving to the outfield and and just learning how to take different routes and and just it's a completely different position, a completely different skill set.

Uh what Farshow really preached is is footwork uh in his first step and and that's something that Davis mentioned to me as well, is that something he's really worked on is just the footwork and and getting off to that first step.

And obviously the catch was incredible.

And what was really cool.

I think for someone like Varsho or even Miles Straw or or Kevin Kiermeyer, like they have made a million of those catches.

And I think what Varsho was really excited about was to see someone else make a catch like that.

Like he is genuinely happy for his teammate.

And I know uh all of us have seen how much work David Schneider puts uh in behind the scenes pregame working in the outfield.

Uh so yeah, Varsho I think was just very

Very excited and happy to see someone that put so much hard work into his craft uh being rewarded.

But it was also funny that Varsho said the first thing that Schneider said when he got to the dugout was like, oh man, like the route I took to that ball was so bad.

And I made it so much more difficult on myself.

But as Varsho told me, like that's the things that he wants to hear from Schneider because it it shows that.

He knows mentally and physically what it takes to be a good outfielder and those are kind of the boxes that he wants to see uh a young player checking off, which is trying to see the mental aspects and know what exactly goes into being a really good defensive player.

Yeah, I thought that was cool.

And that's kind of the little little nugget that you get out of a story or an interview that you don't necessarily know that you're going to find going in.
