Those original ideas and intentions.

And then

Many cases, the incentive structures that we put around these companies and we say the only thing that we want you to use the great engineering might and talent of the people who work at your companies for is more extractive uses, more engagement, more shareholder value.

And that has perverted the system and the technology that so many of us love and use.

Because right now, the way that it shows up in their lives is extractive, and it is a narrow conception of what the possibilities of AI could be.

If I'm forced to be stuck in the imagination of about six or seven people, and not even companies, six or seven people...

Then the way that I experience it is so narrow.

So much of the work that we do at MacArthur and Omidyar and what we're trying to do with Humanity AI is say, let's open up the bounds of possibility of what imagination could look like here.

The way that AI can show up in your lives and really

real use cases that improve the way that you live.

We owe that to people and people are not seeing that.

And that is why people don't enjoy it.

And when you see these numbers.

AI is not destiny.

It is design.

There are intentional design choices that happen every day that are not inevitable.

And I think part of the reason why we feel like it is, is because again, we're only seeing four or five versions of what that future could be like.

One of the reasons Humanity AI is so exciting and some of the grantees that we have in our network are building new ecosystems and new tools and ways to interact and research and information.

And we're opening up the doors of access.
