The emerging deal would be a two-year extension, and in the second year, patients could choose to have funds deposited in a health savings account instead of those subsidies going to an insurance company.
This is something President Trump has been pushing for.
The plan would also include an income cap and other changes Republicans want, and open enrollment would likely be extended so people who drop coverage could still sign up.
