So we found ourselves being the um buoyancy to be chucked overboard in order to get the players back on.

So in that hour with the commissioner I was able to just work through and, you know, where his ownership were at, where his players were at and I sort of walked away from that as I said, Okay, this is um we're not dancing with our sister as I said never

But hey, this this is a a genuine opportunity for us.

So uh and it moved very quickly from there.

Well a couple of things I think worked in our favour.

One is uh

genuinely our success breeds success.

So um the commissioner in his social circles had many people who've been out for the tennis, for example, and they would come back and say,

Melbourne, you know, understand how it gets behind an event.

So what they'd witnessed here, what they'd experienced here during the tennis.

And the rise of Formula One, I think, in America also played to our advantage where um those who follow this closely have seen Formula One increasingly um become extremely relevant in America from from no races to three races.

So both of those things really sort of gave us the credentials, the sort of the the the courage to be in that conversation and say, no, we can do this.

Uh and the other part which was important from um all sorts of perspectives, th they love the venue, right?

They they love being part of uh stadia that have a history, that have a relevance that are globally significant.

So the M C G and its role in Australian and global sport, uh fifty six Olympics, um so many firsts, uh that's where Australian sports history happens.

So that was an appeal to them.

And then absolutely, uh, part of the conversation was, are you telling me at ten thirty in the morning we're gonna have a hundred thousand people on a Friday turn up and I could absolutely say, Can I talk to you about um the Boxing Day Test or the Spring Racing Carnival?

So that that was that was part of the story too, yeah.

It's a a combination of things, but uh yeah.
