Um and it hadn't quite um

I'm sure Richard Scootermore, who was in charge at that stage, would say he hadn't quite lined up some of the internal stakeholders.

So, you know, to do that you need FIFA and UAFA and your clubs and the sport.

So it sort of it didn't quite come off, but we were obviously excited about the thought of hosting two for four points Premier League games.

And um MLB we had a similar moment where we'd had an agreement um but they'd locked the play.

to get the players back on the field.

in the collective barving agreement they were working through the players advised that uh international expansion wasn't really on their radar.

So we found ourselves being the um buoyancy to be chucked overboard in order to get the players back on.

So in that hour with the commissioner I was able to just work through and, you know, where his ownership were at, where his players were at and I sort of walked away from that as I said, okay, this is um we're not dancing with our sister as I said the other

But hey, this a this is a a genuine opportunity for us.

So uh and it moved very quickly from there.

Well a couple of things I think worked in our favour.

One is uh

genuinely our success breeds success.

So um the commissioner in his social circles had many people who've been out for the tennis, for example, and they would come back and say,

Melbourne, you know, understand how it gets behind an event.

So what they'd witnessed here, what they'd experienced here during the tennis.

And the rise of Formula One, I think, in America also played to our advantage where um those who follow this closely have seen Formula One increasingly um become extremely relevant in America from from no races to three races.
