I don't know why they keep inviting me back, but this is my sixth...

I told them when they turn 10, they can come sing with me.

So my oldest, Briella, turns 10 next year, so she's super excited.

I can't believe I'm going to have a fourth grader in my house, but as much as I love coaching the 115 guys that I got with me, those two little girls I have at home are unbelievable.

I think about this all the time.

So the three years prior to me coming here,

The University of Illinois had signed three players from the state of Illinois prior in three years.

We now have signed 78 players in the last five years.

So there's a lot of reasons why I think Illinois football is good, but I think a big part of that is because of the process of bringing our best players from Illinois to the University of Illinois.

Absolutely.

You know, one of the great things that happened, Brad and I actually have a common friend by the name of Greg Lansing, who was head coach at Indiana State when I got hired.

And Greg and I had met.

He was at the University of Iowa back in the day.

We worked together and

him and Brad had known each other.

So literally the first night I got a call from the AD, I also got a call from Brad Underwood and we talked on the phone for a long period of time.
