And I think most of my friends felt that way, too, although I don't think they felt special.

That's the way it sort of felt back then.

And I learned a lot.
I learned a lot from not being, I guess, coddled, not being told I was so special, not getting the four gold stars, not getting on the losing team.
We all still got like an award, a trophy.
I mean I didn't grow up in that era and I think that it just taught me a lot of –
Things about just growing up and, for lack of a better term, manning up to stuff.
