Max, I believe in you, I believe in myself.
Guys, this is what happened.
A quadruple amputee, US cornhole champion, is being accused of pulling out a gun and shooting his friend in the head twice while driving a car.
I mean, guys, when I first came across this headline, I thought it was the onion, Babylon B. I genuinely thought that I was hallucinating.
I was like, no, this obviously is not real.
This isn't even possible.
And so I scrolled on, but oh my God, no, it is in fact possible.
And this right here is the man.
cornhole champion, the first ever quadruple amputee on the U.S.
cornhole team, for that matter.
Now, for years, this young man, and we will get to what is happening now, but for years, ever since this man was a little boy, he has been covered by the media, ESPN, the Today Show, even the Washington Post, for this incredible, inspirational story of the life-saving amputations that he got, I think, when he was 10 months old to save his life, his passion for wrestling when he was in middle school, and the fact that he was this amazing wrestler, even though he had no limbs, his passion, his unusual success in cornhole, his love of the
the outdoors, all of it was written about.
This young man was on the trajectory to having some iconic sports movie made about him with Sandra Bullock playing his mother in about 10 years.
And now, allegedly, his life has culminated in some sort of twisted tragedy that a South Park might not even touch.
I found this interesting.
In a piece that he wrote for the Today Show, this was a few years ago, he concluded his op-ed by saying this.
He wrote,
I want to encourage others to take chances and pursue their dreams.
Again, this is like inspirational sports movie fodder.
I've overcome difficulties, and I think others can too.
