So SMSFs are very unpopular for expats.

It's great to be back and thanks for the invite.

So there's always lots to talk about and you and I never have a shortage of conversation, do we?

Look, we had His Excellency Ruben Jabot, who's the ambassador down in Abu Dhabi.

He was doing quite a lot of posting on social media.

Top bloke, did a great job just keeping comms up, saying, hey, this is what's going on.

In the background, we had a crisis portal through DFAT.

They opened up to UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Iran and Israel, I think it was.

So if you're there, you could register to get alerts.

But to be honest with you,

Being in boots on the ground, we found the information we had was more pertinent as opposed to the information coming out of DFAT in Canberra.

Yeah, so, you know, to the credit of Emirates, they kept flying through this.

And so there was no need for repatriation flights or those sort of things.

If you wanted a flight, you actually booked it the night before and jumped on a plane.

Wow.

So quite a fruity little departure coming out of the UAE with –

uh a very adjusted departure approach if that makes sense if you read between the lines there so very aggressive in getting out but um yeah so we're still here my wife and daughter's actually went back to australia for holidays because they brought the school holidays forward so they went back to oz um and i said worst case scenario um

If it gets worse, then Australia's a better place to be.

Best case scenario, if it blows over, guess what?
