It was pretty early morning, Alberta time.
It was like 7.15.
I think I got a call from a GM, and I was still sleeping at the time because we played the night before.
So I saw my phone.
I saw it at like 7.30 or something and decided to miss call.
When the GM's calling at that time in the morning, I figured it was pretty important.
So I called him back, and he just broke the news to me.
Yeah, right now it feels just like a normal game day, but maybe, yeah, I guess I'll have to see how I feel once we get on for warmup and I look across the ice and see my old teammates and things like that.
But yeah, so far it just feels like a normal game day for me.
I think uh yeah, I think you're you're right there.
You know, it's uh hockey is a pretty simple game really when you when you look at it and uh like you say, it's a willingness to win the battles and and and get the puck and keep it and and get it out of your zone, spend more time in their zone and and score goals.
So uh I think that's the way we're approaching it now, you know, it's uh it's not rocket scientists.
We're we're all hockey players and we love to compete and I think that's what we're gonna have to lean on to to get out of it.
Yeah, I don't think it's uh I think everyone believes uh yeah we're de we're gonna be a playoff team for sure, but um th certainly the relax isn't the word that's been thrown around the dressing room lately.
Uh I think it's more of the sense of urgency, like make your shifts count, make your practices count and and start winning games.
I thought we actually uh came out with a pretty good start the first few shifts and built a little bit of momentum, but then I think uh yeah, it was just a case of you know, not executing, ran into a pretty good goalie over there.
He's playing well and uh just not really playing to it to the level we want to get to.
He's a top player for us too, so uh tough to tough to lose anybody but especially uh you know, he brings an element to the game and to our team that the nominee guys around the league can bring to their team.
So uh it was tough to see him him leave and hopefully he's all right.
