I think they've endeared him to the fan base already.
And, you know, you need more than that to succeed as an NFL quarterback or an NFL player at any position.
But it's not like you're starting from nothing.
This was a guy who got enough done for Ohio State to win the national championship.
But it's just difficult to
separate, hey, how much of that was the supporting cast around him?
Could you have plugged a lot of different quarterbacks into those shoes and had success?
Those are the unanswerable questions, but I think that's why Howard is so well-liked and has such a high floor for success in the league, even if it is as a backup for most of his tenure.
