Not that he's conceited, but it's a very tough sell to be the focal point of the band.

When we get to know people as actors, we assume they don't have much substance or authenticity because they're performing other people's words.

So then when all of a sudden they are in front of a band, which is supposed to be steeped in authenticity, it doesn't ring true.
