The point that I've been raising here, I remember when I used to do the old pod with Elliot, we had Foley on and I said, I love asking owners this question, Berkey.
I always say, if there was no salary cap, how much would you spend on players?
And no owner wants to sound cheap, obviously.
And he wants to say like, oh, I'll spend a kajillion dollars.
But without missing a beat, Foley said $150 million.
Like he already had that in his mind, like in his back pocket.
So I don't think even the idea of keeping a good coach away from a division and Stanley Cup rival is anything other than, to Bill Foley, the cost of doing business.
So I can see him sitting on Cassidy for the year to keep him away from Edmondson.
I think that for sure is going to happen.
I don't think they're going to let him go to Edmonton.
I think there's some hard feelings here.
Some other things have happened that we don't know about that I do, but other people don't.
And there's been some steps taken that would make it hard for him now.
I think it's going to be a different team.
I don't think it will be Edmonton.
I hope I'm wrong.
I hope Gary Bettman gets involved and talks some sense into these people.
I know that this isn't the preferred course for the NHL.
They're saying all the right things.
I'm not an expert at contract law, and everyone that I've ever talked to have said Vegas is not doing anything wrong.
