One, there's I'm going to follow whatever the players want.

And then if it falls apart, he can say, I'll just do what the players wanted me to do.

I just did what Connor wanted me to do.

Or does he do what he thinks is right and whatever happens afterwards, let the chips fall?

Where they may.

I don't know which way he's going to go on it.

My history says he's going to go door number two because that's him and his ego and we're doing it my way.

But I don't know this time around because to the point that we're talking about with Emily, like players have to sign, like the key players on the Oilers, they're not the ones making the ultimate decision, but they've got to green light this thing.

This thing is such a significant hire with that person.

that they've got to sign off on.

And the other thing, knowing that you're Connor McDavid, you're Zach Hyman, you're Leon Dreisaitl, you're going to be in a position to have to defend this thing.

That's another thing that we haven't talked about.

These players now are in a position where they have to defend this hiring.

You don't want any part of that.
