We were talking just briefly there at the break that campaigning is hard in any season.

Having a seven-month-old at home must make it especially hard.

So if you had to name three priorities, and we'll ask you about them in greater detail here in a minute, but briefly, what three issues would you say define your campaign?

What do you want to focus on should Kansas elect you to the U.S.

Senate?

Now, I have to say, of the three issues you named, two of those were among the three issues named by one of your opponents, Christy Davis, yesterday.

I suspect, in fact, that health care, affordability, education, a lot of those topics would be named by almost all of the Democrats in this race.

So with a race like this, a very crowded one, what do you think sets you apart from your challengers?

If a lot of you do share some of the same issue priorities, what makes you the right choice out of this crowded field?

You know, it does strike me, I mean, you mentioned having been elected and actually run a successful campaign as a qualification.

There is a difference between being elected to represent, you know, Topeka and Lawrence as opposed to all of the ruby red state of Kansas.

There is something we do need to ask you about.

Your campaign launched accusations at one of your opponents.

Pastor Adam Hamilton called for him to exit the race based on his handling of a sexual abuse allegation in his church decades ago.

There was a website that appeared online connected to your campaign manager.

Court records show that Hamilton actually fully cooperated with law enforcement's investigation.

The Star actually reported that Hamilton encouraged another victim to come forward and contact authorities.

Senator Schmidt, do you regret making those accusations?

Is that how you think politics should work in Kansas?
