I was working my way through college and started doing IT for local businesses.

And one of the electives when I was in school was ground school for flying.

I was like, oh, that'd be a fun elective.

I always had like an interest.

I grew up by a small airport in the middle of nowhere.

And I just fell in love with it.

I'm like, oh, this is so much fun.

And decided, oh, I'm going to do this as a career.

And so then I switched my college plans and was going to become a commercial pilot, started working on all my ratings and got all the way through and actually had a job lined up as a first officer flying out of the Southwest.

And I got my acceptance letter saying, hey, here you are, you're off to the big leagues.

And that letter was dated September 1st, 2001.

And 10 days later, the whole world changed, particularly in the aviation industry.

Yeah.

9-11 changed everything.

Airlines were furloughing pilots.

So entry-level guys like me is like, you're going to be a few years.

And so I was like, well, you know, this IT gig is actually working out okay.

And so I continued to build on that.

And here we are 26 years later.

Oh, man.
