But if I would have quit...

There are a lot of people who are raising their families working in an environment they love and they'd be stuck in corporate America.

If I would have quit, I wouldn't have had the freedom as my kids are now getting older to be able to have some flexibility to be able to do things with them.

I would have been working someplace where somebody else dictated that schedule and it just wouldn't have happened.

If I would have quit, this wouldn't be here.

It's a nice token of a certain level of success.

I get that.

if I would have given up, if I would have given in to my fear, if I would have just said, you know what, I'll go work in corporate America.

There's a really nice salary attached to a guy like me.

This all would have gone away.

And so I think that's the prevailing message that I'd like to communicate to the me of 20 years ago is,

ignore the influencer on Instagram, ignore the guy on TikTok that's trying to sell you a course and is making you have that self-doubt of, am I doing something wrong?

Am I missing it somehow?

Because that guy who's so supremely confident that he knows all the shortcuts and all the hacks, he rented the seat in the plane.

I think fear.

I think fear holds people back.

Fear of what?

Loss.

Fear of loss.

Like, okay, am I going to make the wrong decision and have a very bad impact on me and those around me?
