And the Labour movement did back home rule for Earth.
Some within it, however, felt that home rule would only be effective within the British imperial framework.

During november nineteen twenty, a delegation of British Labour MPs and officials visited Ireland to investigate allegations of atrocities by the Crown Forces.
They produced a damning report on the behaviour of the British military.
Their testimony contradicted official accounts of what had happened in Cork and elsewhere, describing a prevailing atmosphere of what they called state terrorism.
Their report concluded that only by granting to Ireland the freedom which is her due can we fulfil our great responsibilities towards our sister nation.
And this report of the Labour Commission in Ireland was certainly very important in raising the Irish issue in Britain, but also was then publicised widely throughout the world as well.
