So I didn't understand why it went on so long.

I think the reason it went on so long was,

some wording in the rule that if a player attempts to play the ball and interferes with the defender attempting to clear the ball, well then he can be awarded offside against him.

That may well have been the case and that's what obviously held up so much time in trying to make the assessment.

But on the clear-cut question of whether Haaland was offside or not,

I was right, my initial instinct, from the position we were in, that Hallam was onside.

And he was, and then he was for the help with the fact that the last touch came off the top of Doug, who was tall, as Gravy et al, crossed the ball.

So I just don't know why it took so long.

pundits and former players and colleagues of Michael Carrick to have such a high profile in the media with the number of podcasts and articles and so on so there'll be a lot of conjecture about what he's doing wrong and what he's doing right and have the club let him down and not signing more players and better players
