And they were poor in the matches.
The matches were a hard watch on.
I think maybe the first one I had a go at watching.
And I gave up on that one.
Or I maybe fell asleep and woke up and it was over.
And there was a sense of relief.
I always want to watch games.
I'm always interested in the tactical thing and in how much it means to every single player and every nation that's there despite what's going on within the country.
You look at Iran, Iraq, the Congo in particular.
But
has so much relevance to us I'd look at it I think we would have went there and we'd have done alright but I think we'd have been a bit like Scotland we don't have the depth or quality of players I looked at the Scottish team there's always so much hope before everyone goes every team like I learned this when I was in management every international team
the country thinks the team should be doing better even though they don't have the resources they have a very small population of say Iceland scale or the Fairs when I was there the Cape Verde whoever it is but the nation thinks the team should be doing well and should win football matches even though it's not logical for those teams to think they should be beating teams with much higher quality of players playing a much better level all around
much better leagues but sometimes that magic happens and they do win games and much more than all the organisation behind the team and the sports science and the numbers of staff they have and the great preparation they would have had with the facilities whenever they used things like
passion for your own place, team spirit, understanding the manager, cute, cute selection, clever tactical play.
Yeah, yeah.
Look, he's been known for that with various teams.
He's had a load of different Asian teams at the World Cup and they've never played much differently.
And he's had some good results with it.
But the biggest results for him has been qualifying those nations like Iran and Ghana for the World Cup.
They played very well in the game the other night.
