Colbert is no slouch, right?
Colbert is using every day he has left on CBS to speak out.
And at some point, CBS is gonna have to put on a new show.
They're gonna have to do something at 11.35.
What are they gonna do?
Here's what I keep thinking about this week.
The approval ratings for Trump are very clear.
Pretty much every poll has him around 40% approval.
This is a country where six in 10 Americans disapprove of the president.
They certainly don't want their own free speech rights impaired.
So if you are a major media company, if you are thinking about consumer demand and consumer attention, aren't you gonna try to appeal to the six out of 10?
Just from a pure cynical, I'm not talking about newsrooms now, okay?
I'm not talking about journalists.
I'm talking about major media company CEOs, the ones who have been caving, the ones who have been bending the knee,
If they keep doing that, isn't that going to create even more market demand for alternatives?
Isn't that going to create even more opportunity for other companies to appeal to the six and ten?
Do you see what I'm saying here?
That is exactly what my gut says.
I've been covering Brendan Carr all year.
I've been texting with him all year.
