So, I mean, you know, at that time when I noticed, like I said, that there was a there was a body on the beach, it matched the description.
We returned to base, which was Gulfport International Airport.
And on the way there, I got a text from one of my guys on the ground saying, hey, they
they uh they've made a recovery and uh i said yeah i was just flew over and i said are they sure it's him and uh that was when the sheriff's office had had in their words might be paraphrasing but pretty close to what they said was we have no reason to believe that it's not him um somebody from the sheriff's office had called my incident commander and uh and and nolan's mother and uh and told them that that they believed they had found nolan's body on the beach that day so
It all happened very fast.
Like I said, I've been in the air for a couple hours.
We had about three, three and a half hours worth of fuel.
And so we were just about halfway through our fuel reserve when we just, like I said, happened to come north, notice all the activity on the beach.
And it was a park ranger that had spotted the body, called it in, and that's when all this law enforcement convergence came to that site, set up that mini command post.
Yeah, so again, you know, I've said this before and people that follow us know that we're not typically investigators.
We usually will find missing persons and if they're deceased and somebody else decides how they died and talk to the family about all that kind of stuff.
In this case, because number one, there's a lot of misinformation out there.
There seemed to be kind of a disconnect at that time early on between the family and the sheriff's office.
And it's not to criticize the sheriff's office.
They have their procedures and I don't work for them.
So I'm just going to leave that as it is.
However, we did offer the legal team, Ben Crump's legal team, because he hired some Mississippi attorneys to represent him down here as he was doing this work.
And we told them that we had a canine team over there that we could have them go inspect these boats for decomp.
And the dogs would know if a dead body had been on this boat.
And they said, oh, we heard they cleaned the boat.
