I knew that I actually saw the body and it matched the description of Nolan.

And then, of course, I found out later that the authorities did notify his mother that they had indeed found his remains.

So based on some second and third hand eyewitness testimony and people who talked to folks that were there, Nolan was at Horn Island.

It's a barrier island off the coast of Biloxi, maybe 10, 12 miles south.

Very, very popular place for boaters to go and for recreational purposes.

He had been there a lot with this regular friend group many, many times.

And sometime in the afternoon, his group decided they were going to depart the island and

A parent, according to them, he had was talking to some other friends and he didn't want to leave yet.

And he told them that he would get a ride back with another boat.

I think, according to his friend group, they didn't think much of it.

Sometimes that happens.

They took off and then later found out that that he never did get off the island.

Late in the afternoon on 4 July, I got a call that we had a request come in from either family or friend that a young 18-year-old male had gone missing.

He was last seen on Horn Island.

He was with friends.

The story we got that was truncated at the time was that he did not come back with his friend group that he showed up with.

He was supposed to get a ride with another boat.

Never ended up on that boat either.

And nobody can find him.

I think given the circumstances of how crowded it was on a holiday.
