We could and should be talking about the economic issues that are devastating this country, including Trump's own voters on the very mandate that they elected him to office to talk about. voice-verified

This is, if nothing else, a stand-in for the constitutional crisis that is being ushered in by Trump right now. voice-verified

And if we're not going to speak up voice-verified

when this guy tries to overtly turn the United States into Russia by disappearing legal residents who've done nothing wrong as far as the courts are concerned to a foreign gulag, then what in the world is worthy of our time? voice-verified

And so this is where we do need to focus some attention right now, because if Trump is able to get away with defying, not just ignoring due process, which unto itself would be bad enough, but defying a unanimous ruling handed down by the Supreme Court and basically anointing himself voice-verified

a king who doesn't have to abide by the rulings handed down by a co-equal branch of government, then what the fuck are we doing? voice-verified

This is where we do need to focus our attention because it represents the broader fight, the broader tilt, slide toward authoritarianism. voice-verified

If we're not going to speak up now, we have seen the ways in which silence or capitulation emboldens this guy. voice-verified
