Goldbach conjecture says
says that every even number greater than two can be written as the sum of two primes.
At least one way.
Right.
You'd think, okay, you start checking examples, you're like, four.
Cool.
Um two plus two, right?
Two plus two.
Uh and then you just go up from there.
We know the Goldbach conjecture is true for I forget the exact number, I think it's four times ten to the eighteen.
Okay, we have checked every number from uh four.
Up to four times ten to the eighteen.
And the Goldbach conjecture holds, but there is no general proof that it has to be true.
It's the easiest thing to state and apparently very, very difficult to prove.
Okay.
So in math, uh occasionally you get these these problems that are easy to state and hard to prove.
At the turn of the 20th century, written 1900, the mathematician David Hilbert published a very famous list of problems, which were like what he thought of as the I think it was 23 most important math problems that people should be thinking about going into the new century.
And it turns out he was a very influential guy.
He published this whole list of problems, and they include things like the Riemann hypothesis, Point Guerra conjecture.
