Like you are on the inside.

The person who's being made fun of is on the outside and you might feel good for a second.

Because you might feel like, oh, this person's so popular or they're the leader or I just want their approval so badly or I'm just so close with them and everyone likes them.

And it feels good to have someone confiding in you about someone else because our brain automatically feels almost safer because it's like, oh, well, if they're talking about this person, like at least they're not talking about me.

Like at least it's this person's name in their mouth and not mine.

Baby, let me tell you this.

If they are talking about someone behind their back,

They are 99.9% of the time talking about you behind your back.

Sorry, it can be like your best, best, best, best friend.

If they have the tendency to be a little chatty, to keep people's names and judgments in their mouth, they are probably doing it to you.

And like, yes, when there's two best friends and you guys get in that mode, we're just kind of riffing off each other almost and you are getting into the gossip, you're getting into the tea.

That's one thing.

But if it's just like they feel the need to make fun of people or pick on people behind their backs,

No.

And again, back to the gossip and the tea.

Yes, it can be so fun in the moment.

I know, but it's also so draining.

And it's like, even if they haven't yet, if they're so comfortable talking about somebody behind their back, what would happen if the roles were reversed and they were talking about me?

Yeah, you might want to think about that one.

Especially if you notice that they don't even feel guilty.
