These are the shoes that I wear.
I can look through different lenses, but I am still me and that is something about myself that I never want to change.
And I know some of you are sitting here like, Bri, it is just not that easy.
It's not that easy for me to just be confident.
You might be saying, I'm such an awkward, shy, or anxious person.
Like, this just isn't possible for me to just reset like this.
Let me clear that self-limiting belief out because it is not that you are never going to be awkward ever again.
Let's face it, for every single human being, that's just not a possibility.
It's not an option.
awkward things will happen, you'll be in anxious situations, you'll be in situations where you're doubting yourself.
But something that my friends and I, when we were literally in middle school, used to say, and I need you to remember this for the rest of your life, this phrase, it's only awkward if you make it awkward.
We used to tell ourselves this when we were going to
a party or social interaction where we're like, oh, it's going to be so awkward.
Like it's new people.
We don't know them X, Y, Z. But then we'd remind ourselves it is only awkward if you make it awkward.
And that would be our mantra for the whole night.
Any situation that happened, awkward conversation, awkward meetup, awkward party in general, just tell yourself it is only awkward if we make it awkward.
And then you realize that awkwardness or that tension embarrassment is actually a reflection almost.
You could have a conversation, it could be totally normal, but if you feel awkward or embarrassed or shy, you will think it's awkward.
But if you are having the exact same conversation, but you're just approaching from a place of confidence, you'll realize it's not awkward at all.
