Detroiters will see the option to pay their property taxes with cryptocurrency through PayPal starting in mid-2025. Entrepreneurs and tech leaders had lobbied for the change. Nikhil Patel, deputy CFO and treasurer for the city of Detroit, says implementing the system will put Detroit at the forefront of enabling technologies like crypto and blockchain.
