But he wanted, and of course, famously he he he makes Ulysses in the book is Leopold Bloom, who is Jewish.
That's kind of such an absolutely stunning insight of modernism that the modern Ulysses should be Jewish.
That comes I in an obvious sense because the Jews at the time did not have a homeland, they're looking for a homeland.
Also, I think Joyce was very uh close to
He had a lot of friends, a lot of pupils who were Jewish in Trieste.
I think he saw in in those friends the same kind of uh what he admired in Ulysses, the pragmatism, the family values, the sense of tradition, the kind of sense that they're every man.
How political was he?
Uh well, according to to to Frank, um I mean I think Frank's sense is of course that we are all political and no no question we you cannot not be political.
Uh you're born into a generation.
But beyond that, uh Joyce is highly, highly political.
