She'd never be the type to be like, hey, I did write that, like, you know, and and take to social media and whatever, or say, like, this is pissing me off, or whatever.
But I I think she was pissed off by that kind of inference that she had strayed from her brilliant songwriting.
And I think particularly.
there would have been um when the when there was comparisons to what was written on those earlier albums or those middle albums compared to Showgirl and then there was like the idea that, oh, um
maybe she wasn't the one writing the brilliant lyrics on those albums.
Maybe it was the people she was working with and whatever.
Whatever
It is certainly the thing that um of all the facets of her career, and you know, she's a brilliant performer, she is a great singer, she has learned how to dance, she can do all of these things.
She's great at publicity, she's great at creating a moment.
The thing that she holds on to and defends most fiercely and cares the most about, um, kind of protecting is her songwriting and her legacy.
And that is what this interview to me was really about was cementing that and making sure that everyone knows that that is like the through line throughout her entire career.
And I think, you know.
I couldn't help as well with the with the comparison of like the lyrics that she gave, kind of thinking about, you know, when she said
that pairing.
I thought about another pairing, which is, you know, Ivy on Evermore, which she says, you know, how's one to know I'd meet you where the spirit meets the bones, in a faith forgotten land.
In from the snow your touch brought forth an incandescent glow, tarnished but so grand.
And then Wood on Showgirl, she says, Forgive me it sounds cocky.
