No, my dad encouraged that.
We had scrapbooks of every team that I liked.
All of my sisters and I liked different teams when it came to football, when it came to hockey.
We all had different hockey jerseys.
And I think it was college that I figured out that no one was going to pay me to swim.
And so the next best thing in my mind was to get paid to watch people do athletic things, which is how I got into sports writing.
That sounds a lot of fun.
My dad was ahead of his time when it came to lifting.
And now I am a competitive power lifter.
We can get into that later.
But he would set it up and we would squat in the living room.
He wanted to watch our form.
And mind you, I was like in high school at this age.
So this was in the, I don't know, like late 90s.
early 2000s and you know that wasn't just a thing you did certainly not with young girls and so that was like another like a memory of like do we just grew up very centered on sports and athletics and I think that that's really important particularly for females I saw that you had a you were a production intern for Fox Sports what do you remember about getting that internship and what you did

So I mentioned I swam in college.
I went to Michigan State, which is a great journalism program.
