He talked about feeling like there was an expectation on him to marry a Pakistani girl and his family wouldn't accept him marrying a white girl.
And I asked him, well, what if you just don't get married?
Would your family accept that?
And I said, well, okay, let's do that then.

We took a little road trip around for him to look at them and interview.

But ultimately, he decided that it was important for him to go to this program.
It was a program that his brother had done, so it was kind of a family legacy.
I was very happy for him, congratulated him.
I bought him a cake and helped him start looking for places to buy down there and helped him paint it and helped him pick out furniture and decorate it.
And then, you know, we kind of said goodbye after that.
But of course, goodbye wasn't really goodbye as often happens in these relationships.
