The Americans are starting to see that even what they were proposing was going to be extremely harmful to a number of industries, including not just their farmers, but also their auto manufacturing sector.
Michigan's an important swing state, and I wouldn't be surprised to see the Americans say, We'd like to get back to some discussions about this, because the damage that those tariffs that are coming could do to their own auto industry is really, really serious.
