They they approach it in the same way that calculation is usually about some domestic political consideration and the public policy follows that.

I think people see in Carney somebody who

uh isn't really motivated and doesn't really do the calculation that way.

And I think people value that here in Canada.

I think people outside also kind of sense that about him.

And then there's the substantive part, which is that things that he says are important and the ways in which he says them.

are resonant with people.

There's an aspect of that, again, it's probably a little unique to him, perhaps because of his background and the fact that he hasn't been a politician for twenty-five years.

Um but um

It's getting through to people.

People are hearing it and saying that's the kind of thought that I would love to see more leaders share.

So i I don't think leader of the Western world is a is it's not a position.

Nobody can decide who it is.

It's uh

Um but it's a thought leadership role and I think it's one that people value and and uh I I think Canadians sort of see it.

I mean, I we've got a big pole in the field right now.

And y you know, ever since I started in this business forty years ago, one of the things that you would measure in terms of how people saw a prime minister was how they represented Canada to the world or the image that they gave the world about Canada.

And from time to time different leaders, Pierre Trudeau, Brian Mulroney, um, you would see flashes of people saying, I like the way they do this.

They to get good marks for it.
