just walking around I mean it's a loud city it's lively there's a lot of action going on and there's a real feeling about a big event happening so I think they're really proud that they picked up the baton so to speak and they've sort of kept the Commonwealth Games going and I think we're in for a spectacular week and a half.

It's interesting isn't it?

Is it the plan for the future?

I don't think so because I think India you know want to make it bigger and better than ever and

So I think it's an in-between in so many ways, but I think it will be memorable because I think the sports that are, you know, the nearest and dearest of the Commonwealth Games and any big games are absolutely so well represented here in swimming and athletics and cycling and with the Commonwealth Games, netball as well.

And then you've got the variety of the combative sports, you know, judo and boxing and with basketball three by three here and gymnastics, et cetera.

So it's a lovely mixture and bowls, of course, which is,

sort of gives us that quaintness.

So I think all the flavour of the Commonwealth Games is here, even though it's in a reduced state.

So I don't think we're going to feel like we're missing out on anything.

So I'm really confident that it's going to be very successful.

It's going to be a Commonwealth Games that's not going to bankrupt the city.

And I think we're going to all march forward and feel like at the end of these Commonwealth Games, at the Commonwealth Games,

they've got a big, big future ahead of them as they've had a great past.

Look, for me, obviously the performance is on the field wherever they might be, and, you know, we're parochial, so we want Australia to be at the top.

That battle with England normally for that gold medal rush or medal rush, et cetera, and then there's, you know, events within events, you know,

New Zealand in netball with England as well, and track and field against England, but of course the rise of Africa and sprinting in the Caribbean, et cetera, et cetera.

So there's a whole lot of all of that.

For me, I think it's the engagement of the fans here.

It's the interest back home.
