In England, in the big theatres in London, they have these fire screens that come down at an interval, big, solid screens, right?
And they have a fireman is in every theatre.
And this bloke was a chief fireman at one of the theatres.
Now, I knew I had to get in the theater.
I didn't care whether it was cleaning toilets or whatever.
I had to get in that place, because from there, other things could happen.
Not if I was working in the butcher shop.
So I had to get in that area.
So I looked up the bloke,
And when I went to London, his father, his father sent me to the chief fireman.
The chief fireman signed a form and I was given cards allowing me to work.
And that night I was pushing scenery to a place called the Victoria Palace.
And of course, once I was in there, then I'd hear someone else say, oh, look, the young actor that was there and he was saying, you've got to get out into the provinces.
