There was no guarantees.

No one had long-term contracts.

It was a completely different world, completely different world, and you could operate very differently.

You had to rely on word of mouth.

You had to rely on your scouts.

Now you get GMs just traveling all over the place.

That wasn't happening 30 years ago.

You couldn't just tell your owner, hey, book me a flight.

I'm going to see this guy play tonight.

That wasn't happening.

But now it is.

It seems like there's more invested, there's more scouting, there's more money, there's more of a budget, and yet nothing ever ends up happening.
