But ironically, Shareology is what I started first.
And H2H was a surprise baby.
And it stopped me from writing Shareology.
And then I actually put Shareology down, wrote H2H, and then jumped back into Shareology.
So it's kind of an interesting thing.
It really depends on the success, I think, of what your business has had and how sound your topic is and what kind of relationships you have with what publishers.
All of that really matters.
I would say the biggest thing that you can really do is really focus in on your platform, your message, and your book proposal.
Your book proposal really needs to be sound.
And the harder that you work on getting your book proposal right, the better your book will be accepted if you truly are looking at getting a publisher.
Now, I didn't do a publisher for my first book.
I actually thought if I could just get my book published โ sorry, get my book out, it would be a hell of a lot better than โ
trying to go through all the publishers out there.
And so I'm not 100% bought into the fact that you have to go through a publisher for your book.
The only reason I did it for my second book is because I wanted to get my book into bookstores and cross that off my...
my list, if you will.
So, um, that, that is one of the things that publishers have.
They can get your book into bookstores and that's something that, um, you know, they have inside sales distribution models and all that kind of stuff.
But if that's not important to you, if what's more important is getting a book out and even, I think Guy Kawasaki wrote about this in his eight book in self publishing books and that you don't need publishers, that might be the way to go.
So, um, you know, I know a lot of people that are writing their first books that way and it's a great way to go.
