I I I was invited to New York for the draft, but I decided to spend time with my family. 'Cause that that that kinda wasn't me.
And so I I'm kind of a behind the scenes guy.
So you
Yeah, I wasn't in New York.
I was at home when the draft happened, but I got the call.
And so, um, you know, d too many times I've seen guys where they've been uh predicted to go top five or top ten and there's a long wait and the disappointment and they may go slide down the in the first round or not get drafted in the first round.
So
Yeah, absolutely.
You know I was
Heading in the to the to the draft, after all the workouts and combine stuff, there was a prediction that I would go in the top ten.
And um, you know, so you never, you know, hang your hat on that stuff but but the forty niners weren't they weren't picking in the top ten.
So they were down in the draft and then there's some trades to happen and
You know, next thing I know, um Seattle was at number eight and they were, you know, predicted to pick me.
I had a nice visit with them and uh the forty niners made this incredible move.
They uh they traded their pick with the Rams um at seven and I got the phone call and I was just so elated.
Uh I became a Forty Niner fan um by watching them against my Bears.
I'm from Chicago.
And so I'm like, this do Montana guy, Jerry Rice guy, man, they're killing my bears.
Um but I fell in love with them and um you you hear so much about the organization and the w the winning tradition there and the standard that's set.
And so to be drafted that high and become a a member of the Forty Niners
