Yeah, I mean, I said about the JB hiring, some people questioned it like, oh, he couldn't get teams over the hump. And I'm like, who cares? You know how far away this team is from getting over the hump in the playoffs? If if JB gets this team to the point where we're questioning his ability to get them through the second round of the playoffs, he he did his job like.
Build the statue, hopefully better than Dwayne Wade's, and then fire him and hire the coach that does get them over the hump. Because that's what this team needs. They need to go from almost unwatchable and non-competitive. to what we've seen through five games.
I'm just terrified that I'm getting excited about it after five games and we're not going to see it for, I mean, it's not going to be 82 games, right? OK, so here's the thing is I'm not here's why I think I do a decent job covering the team is I don't have a lot of fandom. The only the only team that I'm fanatic about are the Kansas City Chiefs in football like that. That's it. Like I'm a fanatic. I live, breathe, die like by them winning and losing. It ruins my night when they lose. With the Pistons, it's not as much. But here's the thing.
For your listeners who don't know, my real job is as a teacher. My students don't understand that concept. So do you know what it's like going to school every day teaching 12, 13, 14-year-olds? And the team that you podcast about is on a 20-game losing streak and a 22-game losing streak and a 26-game losing streak? Yeah. And mind you, these kids know nothing about basketball, actually.
God love them. But they just come in and they just talk trash to you. And what am I supposed to say? Like, the team I cover sucks and there's nothing I can do about it.
