We need this guy.

But I am going to be really curious as to when the dust settles and their season ends if we hear very different words coming out of the Arizona organization.

I I think in the past, but now with the so much power being contained within the the front office rather than the manager.

I mean, yes.

Back in the days of a Billy Martin and Earl Weaver, absolutely, they'd be throwing this guy overboard.

Yeah.

Uh you know, Tony LaRussa maybe at some point he would have thrown his up his hands.

But in this era when it just feels like that the p you know, the number one uh rule for manager

in two thousand twenty six is to not offend your players and not uh you know not criticize them publicly to protect them.

Um, you know, they're they're doing their best to make it work.

I think a lot of managers probably in this era actually would look to protect a really good player.

A hundred percent.

And I think we there are two people we can thank.

Uh the late great Larry Lucino and Janna Marie Smith who helped design Camden Yards because their thought process, and I remember having this conversation uh, you know, with Larry and I've I've had it subsequently with Janna Marie, is they wanted the lower walls to give an opportunity for players to make great catches like that.

And and so there have been

times when new ballparks are designed and you see the really big fences like in in Cleveland, I mean it's a it's a huge fen it's like twenty feet high in left field.

That opportunity's not there.

But in so many of the newer ballparks they have the low walls so that players can make plays like this.

And it's real I I I I I love the thought process that they had when they started doing this.
