There was a, and one of the, I invested a little over a billion dollars buying ABC, NBC, CBS, and Fox affiliates.
And one of my markets, there was a situation where a young black kid was killed because he was playing music according to the person who killed him by a white man who was in a hotel room.
And he was in the hotel room and he heard this music in the parking lot and it upset him.
And he went downstairs and confronted this young black kid who was playing the music loudly in the parking lot.
And the white man pulled out a gun and shot and killed this kid.
And I said, listen,
I don't normally call my newsrooms, rarely, but I said, it's important to me that you humanize this kid because I'm seeing stories that
like he was some kid that maybe he wasn't the perfect citizen.
Never been arrested.
He didn't have issues, but don't demonize this kid.
And you don't deserve to get shot in a parking lot because you're blasting, blasting music.
