That is when Jerome Powell's four-year term expires, and he'll get to pick his successor.

The shortlist right now includes two current Fed governors, a BlackRock executive...

And his current National Economic Council director, Kevin Hassett, who is presumed to be the frontrunner.

Trump has hinted that he already knows who he's going to pick.

He should make that announcement shortly.

And we'll see who Trump has under the Christmas tree this spring.
