When Bob Mortimer came on, we were asked, one of our questions is, what's your favourite tree?
People get nerdy about that.
He loves the oak.
And the oak is amazing.
So the whole reason that Britain is the country that it is is all down to the fact that we grow the biggest oaks in the world because of our climate, which allowed us to, A, use the wood from the oak trees to make our boats, which meant that we were the ones that had the first most dominant navy, and they went off and conquered the world and got our empire.
But also on the oak, there's a wasp that lays its eggs on there in these thing called wasp galls, which is like these little brown, like kind of little balls on the tree that are like a parasitic kind of nest.
And if you crush those, they make ink.
